I have a yummy Friday Favorites for you today. "Healthier" desserts and sweets that are really really good! I promise!
What makes them healthier, you ask?
Do they have sugar? Yes.
Do they have flour? Yes.
Do they have butter or oil? Yes.
Here's the thing. My definition of a healthier sweet is a recipe that has real food. Real food such as whole wheat flour, lower glycemic sugar such as coconut sugar or honey, and high quality grass-fed butter or coconut oil. Most of these recipes meet that criteria, and if they don't, you can swap ingredients.
You may remember these that I posted a while ago. They are originally from the Weed Em and Reap Blog found here. These are so chocolaty and moist, and just plain delicious. Made with whole wheat flour, grass fed butter, and coconut sugar, you can feel good about indulging in these Whole Wheat Brownies found here.
I haven't made these in a while, but the first time I made them, I immediately made a second batch. As in, the same night. And I don't like to bake at night so that should tell you something! I couldn't believe how good they were and there are several different ingredients you can add for different flavor. I made one batch with raisins and one batch with chocolate chips and I prefer raisins in this cookie. I know you will love these! Recipe here.

This cake is so easy since it's made in one bowl. It's made with whole wheat flour and here are some ingredient swaps I recommend: coconut sugar instead of granulated sugar, and melted coconut oil instead of canola oil. I made this cake for my son's birthday party. My mom always makes the kids' birthday cakes and they always come out adorable and tasty, but Sam doesn't like chocolate and I selfishly wanted a.) to try this recipe, and b.) to have something chocolate for dessert. Well, I made this thinking it would be just ok, but it turned out to be a hit! Even for certain people (who shall remain nameless) who would run the other direction at the thought of a "healthy" cake. It is so moist that it really only needs the sprinkling of powdered sugar on top. Find the recipe here.
My friend Jackie made these for our book club and they were soft, moist, and enjoyed by all. I have not made them myself but when I was looking through my pinned recipes I couldn't not share this one. Of course it's perfect for anyone following a Paleo diet, but everyone will enjoy them. Find the recipe here.

I love the name of these. I love that they're healthy. I love that a main ingredient is nuts. Most of all I love that my friend Wendi made these and that I got to try them! The only thing I would swap out would be whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour. Other than that, this is a yummy recipe. Find the recipe here.
And that's all for today's Friday Favorites! I hope you enjoyed it and that you will try some or all of these recipes!
